Men still hold leadership positions more frequently than women. One reason for this: Women put their careers on hold more often and for longer periods of time for unpaid care work. Furthermore, organisational structures often make it difficult to reconcile a career and unpaid care work. However, stereotypical role models also have an influence on careers. The Federal Government has initiated cultural change. Clear-set goals and requirements are important to set the course for equal participation of women and men in all leadership positions, thereby also serving as a signal for sustainable and future-proof economic activities in a business.
